Hernan Bas (b. 1978, Miami) is an American artist known for his expressive and narrative approach to painting, often centering around the figure of the male 'dandy' in fantastical or dreamlike settings. Bas works within a classical painting tradition while also exploring queer and homoerotic themes. His work is held in prominent museum collections, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, and the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
