About the Artist
Sharon Lockhart (b. 1964, Norwood, Massachusetts) is an American photographer and filmmaker known for her works that explore social structures and the everyday lives of her subjects. Often drawing on anthropological and ethnographic methods, Lockhart’s work captures moments of stillness and reflection, using both photography and film to examine labor, communities, and individual identity. Her projects have been exhibited internationally, and she has held exhibitions at major museums, including the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles."
